site picture
Picture showing where the Ministry excavated in 1994. One can see the pavement of old Arditou street as well as the ruble from excavation which was layed on the side of the builiding giving a fake impression of the entrance level. The road was elevated with land fill and the natural rock exists over one meter below the old street level. Yet the so called existence of an excavated basement was the major reason put forth by the archaiological concil in 1993 for reexaming the expropieation of the site.
